Hungary v France
Despite being billed as one of the highlights of the opening round, France vs Germany fell short of expectations. Les Bleus won the game, but they were hardly convincing and those who’d backed them to win Euro 2020 will be hoping to see a little more from Didier Deschamps’ men in the coming weeks.
They did enough to collect three points and they will be expected to make it two from two on Saturday afternoon. Kylian Mbappe’s pace is likely to frighten the Hungarian defence, whilst Paul Pogba appears to be a completely different player when he pulls on a blue jersey.
France may be saving their best swashbuckling performance for the latter stages of this competition and they may not have to get out of second gear again here.
Hungary will battle away, but they lack quality in the final third and are unlikely to get on the score-sheet.
2-0 France | 5/1
Spain v Poland
Spain were left frustrated by the stubborn Swedish defence and eventually had to settle for a point. La Roja are always likely to dominate possession and they clocked up around 85% on Monday night.
They might not enjoy as much territory this time around, however, they shouldn’t have too many problems breaking down the Polish defence.
Alvaro Morata will be desperate to get on the scoresheet after fluffing Spain’s best opportunity earlier in the week. Paolo Sousa’s Poland looked a little sloppy at the back as they went down 2-1 to unfancied Slovakia.
They need to be much better this time around and they are likely to play with the handbrake off. This could be a very entertaining 90 minutes.
