Spain’s stuttering Euro 2020 campaign was given a timely boost on Wednesday afternoon as they smashing five past Slovakia in Seville. Admittedly, they were given a helping hand by Martin Dubravka, but they put on a five-star show and the introduction of Pablo Sarabia appears to have made a huge difference.
Spain have had over 60% possession in all three of their matches so far (85% against Sweden!), however, they looked far more direct and determined whenever they moved the ball forward against Slovakia. That victory should give them plenty of confidence going into this potentially tricky round of 16 tie.

Croatia limped their way through Group D and will need to significantly improve their performances if they wish to progress any further. They beat Scotland 3-1, however, they still produced a low xG and chance creation hasn’t come easily to them. Zlatko Dalic has plenty of experienced heads in the camp, however, that may not be enough for the 2018 World Cup runners-up here.
